In an exhilarating clash, the Boland Dames kept their dreams of reaching the SA Rugby Women’s Premier Division semi-finals alive with a thrilling 12-10 victory over the Mastercard Golden Lions Women. Meanwhile, the Border Ladies climbed the log to claim second place after defeating the Cell C Sharks Women, and the Bulls Daisies continued their dominant streak by notching up an impressive century of points against the EP Queens.

The match at Boland Park in Worcester delivered intense moments as Boland sealed the win in the final play of the game. After a tightly contested first half, the Lions managed to edge ahead with a try in the second half. However, the Dames launched a desperate attack in the dying minutes, resulting in a penalty try awarded to the home team by referee Bulela Qwane. The locals erupted with joy as the Boland Dames celebrated their hard-fought victory.

Meanwhile, the Border Ladies displayed a well-rounded performance, triumphing over the Cell C Sharks Women with a convincing score of 33-13. The visitors had set their sights on securing a bonus point and managed to score six tries in Durban, overpowering the home side, who could only muster two tries.

With this win, Border extends their lead on the log, sitting four points ahead of DHL Western Province, although the Cape Town team still has a game in hand.

On the other hand, the Bulls Daisies continued to assert their dominance, obliterating the EP Queens’ defense with a remarkable 104-0 victory at LC de Villiers Stadium in Pretoria. The Bulls’ outstanding performance saw them amass an impressive 50-0 lead at halftime, which they replicated in the second half, securing their biggest win over the Queens.

While all teams will have a bye this weekend, the competition will resume on 22 July, promising more thrilling encounters on the horizon.
