The upcoming weekend promises thrilling encounters in women’s provincial rugby as teams battle for coveted semifinal spots in both the Premier and First Divisions. Three key matches are set to take place in the Premier Division, while four games will be played in the First Division. Let’s dive into the matchups and expectations for these highly anticipated clashes.

Premier Division Games:

Game 1: Bulls Daisies vs EP Queens:

The Bulls Daisies, currently unbeaten and leading the log with 35 points, will face off against EP Queens at the LC de Villiers Stadium in Pretoria. Despite EP Queens’ international front row, the Daisies’ formidable lineup makes them clear favorites. However, EP Queens’ tactical changes in the backline pose a threat that the Daisies must remain vigilant against. The match will be officiated by Sinesipho Foloti.

Game 2: Boland Dames vs Mastercard Golden Lions Women:

The Boland Dames, eager to bounce back from their narrow loss to DHL Western Province, will go head-to-head against the Mastercard Golden Lions Women at Boland Park in Worcester. While the Lions have shown progress this season, the Boland Dames’ resilience at home makes them a formidable opponent. The scrum battle between the two teams promises to be intense. Bulela Qwane will be the referee for this match.

Game 3: Cell C Sharks Women vs Border Ladies:

Border Ladies, currently in third place with 27 points, will clash with the Cell C Sharks Women at Hollywoodbets Kings Park 2 in Durban. The return of experienced player Eloise Webb will bolster Border Ladies’ chances. The Sharks, despite their close encounters this season, have struggled to secure crucial victories. With nothing to lose, the Sharks will bring a tenacious attitude to the game. Siyanda Pikoli will officiate the match

First Division Games:

Game 1: Free State Women vs Valke Women:

The table-topping Free State Women, yet to taste defeat this season, will take on the Valke Women at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. Captain Bernice Strydom’s positional shift to flyhalf adds versatility to the Free State lineup. Valke Women, currently in third place, pose a challenge to the dominant Free State side. Aneka Fick will be the referee for this game.

Game 2: Leopards Women vs Griquas Women:

The Leopards Women will welcome the Griquas Women in Potchefstroom, with the hosts entering the match as favorites. Although Griquas showed improvement in their previous game, they face a tough task against the Leopards. Cameron Dyers will officiate the clash.

Game 3: SWD Eagirls vs Pumas Women:

The attacking prowess of the SWD Eagirls will be put to the test as they face the Pumas Women in Oudtshoorn. The defending champions, known for their remarkable try-scoring ability, will challenge the Pumas’ defense. JD de Meyer will officiate the game.

Game 4: Griffons Women vs Limpopo Blue Bulls Women:

In Welkom, the Griffons Women, still in search of their first win, will take on the fast-paced Limpopo Blue Bulls Women. The Griffons will need a monumental effort to halt the momentum of their opponents. Angie Bezuidenhout will officiate the match.
