South African Athletes pushing their limits at World Aquatics Championships
Day One and Two saw some exciting Performances for South Africa.
The 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, have entered its third day, and Team South Africa continues to impress with their determination and performances in diving and open water swimming events.
In the Diving Julia Vincent, Bailey Savannah and Stefanus Steenkamp lead the way.
In the 1m Springboard event, Julia Vincent and Bailey Savannah showcased their talent in the women’s category. Julia Vincent’s outstanding performance earned her a spot in the finals, finishing a fantastic 11th overall.
On the men’s side, Stefanus Steenkamp represented Team South Africa in a fiercely competitive field of 63 athletes, putting forth an impressive effort

Artistic Swimming: Team SA represented in Solo and Duet Technical
Skye Macdonald’s elegance and skill were on full display as she secured a commendable 26th position overall in the Women’s Solo Technical event.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s Duet Technical, the dynamic duo of Jess Hayes-Hill and Laura Strugnell mesmerized the audience with their stunning performance.
Open Water Grit: Amica De Jager and Tory Earle's 10km Journey
In the challenging Women’s 10km open water swimming event, Amica De Jager and Tory Earle proved their mettle, going the distance and pushing their own limits to make their nation proud.
And we also witnessed stellar efforts from Connor Buck and Joshua Ashley, Taking on the Open Waters Men’s 10km, Buck and Ashley demonstrated their prowess early in the morning, finishing 43rd and 52nd respectively in a fiercely competitive field of 69 athletes from around the globe.

Water Polo Showdown: South Africa vs. Greece
At 10:30 am today, the water polo ladies’ team of South Africa will dive into action, facing Greece in their opening Group C match. This group also includes formidable teams like Italy and Argentina, promising an intense and exciting competition.
With South African athletes delivering outstanding performances in various aquatic disciplines, the world is watching eagerly as they continue to make their mark at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships.
