South African Men's Water Polo Faces Tough Challenge
In the early hours of this morning at 03:00 am, South Africa’s Men’s Water Polo team faced the pre-tournament favorites, Spain, in an intense battle. Despite their best efforts, the South African team succumbed to a 6-27 defeat. The group stage proved to be highly competitive, featuring powerhouses like Montenegro and Serbia. Such opportunities to compete against the world’s best are crucial for water polo in South Africa. However, the challenges lie in the costs associated with traveling to play top European teams, making it difficult to match Europe’s extensive water polo club system.
