Mont Choisy Le Golf played host to an exhilarating AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, where South African golfers Dylan Naidoo and Christo Lamprecht delivered standout performances, both finishing tied for second place at 12 under-par. Their efforts, however, fell just short of England’s John Parry, who secured the title with a final score of 14 under-par, marking his first DP World Tour victory in 14 years.

Solid four round performances by Naidoo and Lamprecht

Dylan Naidoo, 26, turned professional in 2019 and showcased his resilience in the final round. Despite a challenging start, with three bogeys in his first four holes, Naidoo fought back with four birdies to finish the round at 71. Entering the final round tied for the lead at 11 under-par alongside England’s Eddie Pepperell, Naidoo’s impressive third-round score of 66, highlighted by six birdies in his first seven holes, set him up for a thrilling finish. However, Parry’s remarkable 8 under 64 in the final round proved too strong to overcome.

Christo Lamprecht, a rising star who first gained prominence by winning the South African Amateur Championship in 2017, also impressed. The Louis Oosthuizen Academy graduate carded a brilliant 65 in the final round, demonstrating consistency and poise to match Naidoo’s 12 under-par finish.

The tournament culminated in a sensational comeback by John Parry. Starting the day five shots behind the leaders, Parry delivered an exceptional back-nine performance featuring an eagle and four birdies, sealing his victory at 14 under-par.
